Reflecting type 2 inflammatory allergic diseases
We are also interested in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinitis with nasal polyps with and without NSAID-exacerbated respiratory disease. We want to better understand how individual immune cells orchestrate (skin) inflammation and host defense, including the crosstalk of infiltrating immune cells with (skin-)resident cells. With a strong focus on the human immune system, we ultimately want to identify relevant pathogenic players that could serve as therapeutic targets, to facilitate the development of novel treatment options for patients suffering from these chronic conditions. To further learn about the clinical efficacy and side-effects of current treatments in atopic dermatitis, we also established a registry for atopic dermatitis patients with moderate-to-severe disease.
